I met my wife at a Star Trek convention. She was study abroad from France and spoke little English, and I didn’t know a lick of French. So, for the first few months of our relationship, we communicated by speaking Klingon.

Okay I’m not even a Star Trek fan but that’s beautiful.

Don’t ever put your happiness in someone else’s hands. They’ll drop it. They’ll drop it everytime.

hi:

it’s so shitty when you finally realize someone who you cared so much about and wanted to be apart of your life so much doesn’t feel at all near the same way and could barely care at all about you

Nothing can wear you out like caring about people.

Before I am your daughter,
your sister,
your aunt, niece, or cousin,
I am my own person,
and I will not set fire to myself
to keep you warm.

The idea of mercy existing without justice, or vice versa, is ludicrous and wildly unfounded. The Father showed mercy by getting justice through His Son’s death. Your emphasis on one or the other is an insult to the King. Mercy and Justice are inseparable.

You set the standard for how you will be treated. People will treat you the exact way you treat yourself. So be good to you. Take time for yourself. Rest. Play. Shower yourself with affection, support, and gifts. Don’t be afraid to be unavailable. Train yourself to know when to say no.
